Competition for the rehabilitation of the Sallarès Deu industrial complex
The SEED proposal aims to social exchange by reactivating industrial heritage from the NZEB rating, with very low environmental impact.
The unprotected volume of the industrial complex is demolished to create a public plaza that connects the access galleries with the new facilities axis of the superisland.
The passively air-conditioned galleries illuminate the reception, administration and initial phases of start-ups with a solar control system.
Green lungs transport natural light and ventilation to the semi-basement and transform it into a noble space that houses the advanced phases of start-ups, flexible training classrooms, the auditorium and the showroom.
The proposal includes both a coworking and coliving program, which allows for reduced travel to the workplace.
The industrialization of coliving with recycled maritime containers is a clear commitment towards the circular economy that allows the space to be adapted to other uses, if necessary. In just two weeks, the homes can be transported wherever desired, recovering the initial investment with the minimum ecological footprint. Additionally, housing units can be expanded or reduced without giving up the best comfort, habitability and health benefits.
