Competition for the rehabilitation of the Sallarès Deu industrial complex
The SEED proposal aims to promote social exchange and reactivate industrial heritage through the NZEB rating, which has a very low environmental impact.
The unprotected part of the industrial complex will be demolished to generate a public square that will connect the access galleries with the new axis of facilities of the super-island.
The passively heated galleries will feature a solar control system that illuminates the reception, administration and start-up departments.
Green lungs of vegetation will transport natural light and ventilation to the semi-basement, transforming it into a comfortable space that will host the advanced stages of start-ups, flexible training classrooms, an auditorium and exhibition hall.
The proposal includes both coworking and coliving spaces, which reduces the need to commute to the workplace.
The industrialisation of coliving with recycled shipping containers is a clear commitment to the circular economy, allowing the space to be adapted to other uses if necessary.
In just two weeks, homes can be transported wherever they want, recovering the initial investment with a minimal ecological footprint.
In addition, the housing units can be expanded or reduced without sacrificing the best comfort, habitability and health benefits.
