• Recovery of the industrial heritage of Sabadell

Competition for the rehabilitation of the Sallarès Deu industrial complex

The SEED proposal aims at social exchange by reactivating industrial heritage from the NZEB rating, with very low environmental impact.

The unprotected volume of the industrial complex is demolished to generate a public square that connects the access galleries with the new axis of facilities on the superisland neighborhood.

The passively heated galleries illuminate the reception program, administration and the initial phases of start-ups with a solar control system.

Green lungs transport natural light and ventilation to the basement and transform it into a noble space that contains the advanced stages of start-ups, flexible training classrooms, the auditorium and the showroom.

The proposal includes both a cowork and a coliving program, which makes possible to reduce the workplace transport.

The industrialization of coliving with recycled maritime containers is a clear commitment to the circular economy that allows to adapt the space to other uses, if necessary. In just two weeks the houses can be transported where needed, recovering the initial investment with the minimum ecological footprint. Additionally, the housing units can be enlarged or reduced without renouncing the best comfort, habitability and health benefits.
