Adaptation to new ways of working from biophilic design and the circular economy
The proposal aims to offer employees a meeting space that facilitates their daily work, and adapts to the new needs of the company through the circular economy and biophilic design.
Biophilic design is based on people’s innate need to connect with nature to feel good. Several studies confirm that contact with nature improves our physical and mental health, as well as our cognitive performance.
Following this premise, the project has implemented the following strategies aligned with biophilic design:
- Natural light and multidirectional views of the outside, which allow you to contemplate both the sea and the mountains.
- Living walls and plants, which bring nature closer to the staff.
- Incorporation of natural materials, such as wood.
Another key aspect has been the reuse of the glass system from the previous offices, redesigning them to meet acoustic requirements.
This last strategy, based on the circular economy, has made it possible to reduce the energy needed for the execution of the project by 67% and CO₂ emissions by 70%. In addition, it has achieved a 28% saving in the cost of the work compared to a standard construction project.
