What happens when we go beyond the limits for the library that were established in the terms of the competition brief?
The urban space is reclassified by building the 400-space car park underground, instead of the above-ground parking provided for in the urban development planning. The above-ground car park area is redesignated as public for new social housing initiatives and complementary facilities, and the construction of the library is self-financed. The result is four values in one that enable the area for accessing the city to gain value with a new library concept: an outdoor cultural repository.
